View Bay des Chaleurs in a larger map
The Bay Des Chaleurs, rightfully called one of the most beautiful bays in the world, provides a stunning backdrop for this Deluxe tour. Cycling the Acadian Coast of New Brunswick you'll have the opportunity to take in a unique and spirited culture, and some of the friendliest and most hospitable people in Canada. Our Deluxe tour is the most luxurious way to see it on a bicycle - we'll start by picking up participants in Moncton, and drive to Bathurst where the cycling begins. We'll follow the coastline from Bathurst to the self-proclaimed Acadian capital of Caraquet, and then on to the Acadian Isles of Lameque and Miscou. Along the way we'll stay at quaint and historic bed and breakfasts with the ocean in view, explore the open-air Village Historique Acadien, and maybe even learn how to cook your own lobster.

Deluxe Bed & Breakfast Adventure
Day 1: Bathurst to Janeville - 22 km
After picking up participants in Moncton in the morning, we'll drive to the city of Bathurst, a city with a beautiful natural harbour along the Bay des Chaleurs. After lunch in the city we'll begin cycling past some lovely beaches to our destination of Janeville for the night. Here we'll stay in individual cottages on the beach, for a truly relaxing experience. While we cycle, keep your eyes on the Bay for the legendary Chaleur Phantom ship, a burning three-mast ship that has been spotted in the Bay countless times over the past 300 years...
Day 2: Janeville to Maisonnette - 41 km
Arguably the most beautiful day of the tour, today we'll continue right along the water through small Acadian fishing villages. The view is often stunning as the road passes along the water's edge. The day ends at Maisonnette, where we'll stay at a historic inn overlooking the Northumberland Straight. Go for a dip in the water or just relax before eating another wonderful dinner.
Day 3: Maisonnette to Caraquet - 25 km
On our third day we have the opportunity to visit the Village Historique Acadien and experience life as it was lived by Acadians in the 1800s. Actors and actresses complete the atmosphere in an open-air museum filled with 35 buildings lovingly preserved and restored from the 1700s and 1800s. We can enjoy a typical Acadian lunch at the village before carrying on around the bay to Caraquet, the heart of Acadian culture. Here we will stay in another historic bed and breakfast, where you'll have the opportunity to learn how to cook your own lobster, fresh from the bay!
Day 4: Caraquet to Shippagan - 37 km
Today we'll start by following the coastline before turning to cross the small peninsula on quiet country roads. Green trees and inlets mark the route before we reach the Northumberland Straight, and turn to the coastal city of Shippagan. This is the home of New Brunswick's largest commercial fishing fleet, as well as the New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Centre, which we will have plenty of time to explore.
Day 5: Shippagan to Miscou Lighthouse - 40 km
Our final day we'll cross from Shippagan to the Acadian Isles, starting with Lameque. Here we'll cross through the town of the same name, home to the famous Lameque Baroque Festival before continuing on across these windswept isles. Crossing to Miscou island the landscape becomes even more desolate as we reach the end of the island at the beautiful Miscou Lighthouse. There should be time for a relaxing walk along the beach, and even a refreshing victory swim, before we transport everybody in the afternoon back to Moncton.
